Ardnahoe Distillery is an attractive whisky distillery located on the Northeastern side of the Isle of Islay. The island is known for its whisky production with Ardnahoe being the nineth distillery on Islay, and the first in 15 years.

Much more than a manufacturing space, Ardnahoe is designed with strong aesthetics in mind, meaning the facility blends in with the beauty of its natural surroundings and welcomes the public to its retail area, whisky bar, and restaurant, along with tours of the distillery itself. J&D Pierce began site works for this beautiful project in June 2017 and by November 2018 Cask 001 was being filled.

The greatest challenge was the project’s island location, meaning that all site deliveries were transported via ferry. Coupled with the unpredictable Scottish weather, our teams worked tirelessly to adhere to a precise site program, ensuring efficiency and timely progress. Despite late architectural changes, our design and installation teams rose to the occasion, successfully overcoming obstacles to deliver the project on time and on budget.

Regarding cladding, the project featured roof sheeting in a mix of Kingspan trapezoidal and single ply products. The large feature aluminium verges with deep soffit returns in a goalpost arrangement frame a vertical cladding installation formed from Russwood Siberian Larch timber. Aluminium powder coated feature pods enhanced the entrance area.
