Our team spearheaded the steelwork for the renowned Queen Street Station Redevelopment Project.
Working within the confines of a functioning train station, we strategically executed off-line steel assembly during daytime hours and conducted large component lifting at night, ensuring minimal disruptions. Noteworthy features include two large trusses, each weighing approximately 100Te, with the asymmetrical box truss requiring the precision of a 500Te crane for lifting and placement. This meticulous approach, coupled with nighttime (rail isolation) operations and our commitment to safety, played a crucial role in the success of the project. This endeavour showcases our expertise in handling complex steel structures in a city centre locale.
Client Feedback: This was achieved to the highest safety standards and J&D Pierce worked with [our teams] all through the design and installation phases including working adjacent to live tunnels and the closing of major roads in Glasgow City Centre.
