We are pleased to announce that we have expanded our crane fleet, with the purchase of:

2No GMK 5150XL 150T all-terrain Cranes
1No GMK 5250XL-1 250T all-Terrain crane

Jamie Pierce (MD), Dave Ryan (MD) and Fraser Pierce (Pre-construction) were delighted to attend a handover ceremony with Derek Kidd (Sales Manager UK (North) – Grove) in Buckingham to celebrate the delivery of all five cranes.

This will bring our total number of cranes to 15 in our fleet.

We are excited to be cheering on Gordon Shedden and Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport as they head to Knockhill Racing Circuit in Fife on 8th and 9th August for another thrilling round of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).

Our project in Wales is taking shape at our East Kilbride Strubeam facility with the fabrication of these 12.5te plated Dolphin beams formed out of 60mm*450mm wide flanges and 20mm thick web plate; all S355 steel. The 10No. Dolphin beams will cantilever 9m from plate girder columns and will support approx. 35Te of concrete terracing which will form the upper tier. The connection to the plate girder column is designed as rigid non-slip connection with M36 grade 10.9 Tension Control Bolts, 80mm thick inside flange plates and 15mm thick web plates. Connection back to the concrete core is achieved via a stub section matched to the dolphin beam geometry that is welded to the cast-in plates connected together with 22No. M36 grade 8.8 bolts and 40mm thick endplates. The fabrication of the dolphin beam involves single sided full penetration butt welding between the flanges and fillet welds to the stiffeners and web section.

J&D Pierce has successfully completed its first UVDB audit, achieving certification that will allow the company to undertake works within the utilities sector, including overhead line projects.

The certification marks an important milestone for the business and reflects J&D Pierce’s commitment to maintaining high standards across safety, quality and operational performance. It also strengthens the company’s ability to support critical infrastructure projects and expand its presence within the utilities industry.

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of sponsoring The Ayr County Show 2026 Ron Brady Sport Horses Royal Highland Show Classic Championship Qualifier – Class 2.

It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout and a high standard of competition throughout the day, with riders and horses putting on an excellent display in the ring. A huge congratulations to Katarina Repetto riding Forenie Des Vaux, who took the win in the class and was presented with the cup by Nicola Smith. Well done to everyone who competed and contributed to making the class such a success — it was great to be part of another brilliant day at the show.
