Henley Gate Bridge, Ipswich

The Henley Gate Bridge is a single span composite multi girder type plate girder bridge structure that spans the East Suffolk Rail Line and will provide access to the major Henley Gate housing development.

Weathering Grade steel plate.

Testing & inspection to quantified service fatigue category F56 in accordance with PD6705-2 2010+A1:2013

Execution Class 3 BSEN1090-2 2018

J&D Pierce were awarded the subcontract to;

• Fabricate the Main Girders complete with stiffeners, bearing taper-plates and shear-studs
• Assemble into paired girder units ready for delivery
• Full Trial Assembly to prove all connections
• Blast cleaning all steelwork after fabrication

All work was carried out at our Strubeam facility in East Kilbride.

The four main girders where fabricated and assembled into three part length units, thus 6No. Paired Girder units all completed to meet the clients programme in order to meet the Christmas possession for the installation at site.
